Micro-Fulfillment Centers
What are micro-fulfillment centers?
Micro-fulfillment centers are small facilities – typically the size of a convenience store – with fewer, high-turnover SKUs located in neighborhoods to be closer to customers, which are used to facilitate faster delivery and greater delivery density. They can be delivery-only “dark stores” in urban areas or bolt-on operations attached to a grocery/retail store.
