Instant delivery refers to the delivery of groceries or convenience items to consumers in under 30 minutes (in some cases, in under 10 minutes). Instant-delivery services typically operate through “dark” neighborhood micro-warehouses or retail locations with storefronts. Orders can be picked in a few minutes and handed to waiting couriers, who serve a limited radius. Instant-delivery services often employ full-time couriers rather than gig workers.
