Part 135 Certificate

What is a Part 135 certificate?

The FAA requires that drone delivery companies obtain a Part 135 operating certificate (as well as a type certificate for each aircraft type). Part 135 is the only pathway for small drones to carry a customer's property for compensation beyond visual line of sight. Of the different types of Part 135, the Part 135 Standard certificate is the broadest certificate available – though drone delivery companies still need authorization for each type of operation and an FAA exemption for each route that goes beyond line of sight.
