What is the multiverse?

The multiverse describes a set of separate virtual worlds where users interact, consume content, play, work, or transact within them. The multiverse is often viewed as the precursor to the metaverse – a single shared virtual world. The virtual worlds created by game platforms Roblox and Fortnite are often referenced as early examples of multiverse-style worlds.
